Several women leaders and members of the Brahma Kumaris tied Rakhis to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The women expressed their affection by tying Rakhis to the Chief Minister at his official residence.
Chief Minister Naidu conveyed his Rakhi Purnima greetings to them.
Minister for BC Welfare, Economically Weaker Sections Welfare, Handlooms and Textiles, S. Savitha, former minister Peethala Sujatha, NTR District TDP President Gadde Anuradha, and TDP State Secretary Achanta Sunitha were among those who tied Rakhis to the Chief Minister.
Minister Savitha and Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi also tied Rakhi to Minister for Human Resources Development, Information Technology and Real Time Governance, Nara Lokesh at Undavalli residence. He conveyed special thanks to them for their affection.
Earlier, Lokesh greeted people on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. He said in his message that though he has no biological sister, God has blessed him with millions of sisters as companions.
“I can never forget the love and affection shown to me by sisters wherever I go in the Telugu states. The warmth and bond shared by women have instilled in me a greater sense of responsibility. We are imparting lessons on moral values to children from their student days, teaching them to respect women. Ensuring women’s safety and empowerment is the responsibility of the people’s government. On the occasion of Rakhi festival, I extend my heartfelt greetings to Telugu sisters, who are dear to me like my life,” he said.
