The US is preparing to clamp down on immigration by revoking up to two lakh visas – business and tourist – in what could be the largest mass revocation in its history.
In addition, Vice President JD Vance has backed plans for a new $103,265 (roughly Rs 98.9 lakh) fee for most new H1-B visa applications; this proposed fee follows attempts to impose a $100,000 charge on visas for some highly skilled foreign workers. In June, a Massachusetts federal court struck down the earlier fee.
