ICMR-NIN launches SHINE Programme 2026 for school children
The National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR-NIN) on Tuesday inaugurated the Science and Health Innovation for Nextgen Explorers (SHINE) Programme 2026, a two-day outreach initiative to introduce school children to the world of science, nutrition and public health.City & Local Guides
Around 800 students from nine schools participated in the initiative, which was inaugurated by Director, NIN, Dr Bharati Kulkarni at the ICMR-NIN campus. Nearly half of the participating students are from government schools serving children from underprivileged communities, giving them an opportunity to visit a premier national nutrition research institute and experience science through direct interaction, demonstrations and hands-on activities.
