Woman arrested for allegedly drowning nine-month-old daughter in lake
A 34-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly drowned her nine-month-old daughter in Bairamalguda Lake in LB Nagar police on Sunday evening.
Plice said the suspect was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
According to investigators, morning walkers spotted the woman holding the infant in the lake at around 7 pm and alerted the police through
Dial 100. By the time rescuers reached the spot, the baby had died.
Police identified the accused as Lokasani Rajeshwari (34), a resident of Injapur and wife of Ravinder.
During questioning, she allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol before the incident.
