Telangana government puts districts on alert amid heavy rain forecast
The State government has directed district collectors and police officials to remain alert and take all precautionary measures to prevent loss of life and property amid heavy rains forecast to continue for the next two days. During a video conference with collectors, police commissioners and SPs, Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju asked officials to establish control rooms at every district headquarters and closely monitor the situation. He stressed coordination among different departments, particularly in districts along the Godavari basin, and directed officials to alert people living in low-lying areas.
The officials were asked to focus on districts expected to receive heavy rainfall over the next two days and take preventive measures to minimise public inconvenience. The government has kept NDRF and SDRF teams on standby for emergency assistance.
